Happy June!

June is a great month- weddings, beautiful weather, school getting out… as if I don’t have enough to be jealous of those born in June (I am a dead-of-winter-January baby myself), lucky June babies get pearls as their birthstone!
I had a great twitter conversation about this with my friend Mell this week. (@Doodleology-follow her on twitter, she’s awesome!)  Mell made me blush by giving me this wonderful compliment:

“Being a June baby myself, I never really liked or wore pearls. Until I started wearing your jewelry! It is the honest truth. Somehow your designs make pearls pretty to me :)”

Aw, thanks Mell!  And she sent me a great pic of her sporting my necklace

Mell is clearly a high-class gal- what with the Kendra Renee Jewelry, the G&T, and the cruise ship

Do you know a lucky June baby?  Don’t forget their birthday (or their birthstone!)

The SF Etsy Sampler: A Tasty Trunk Show!

I know I frequently mention upcoming events, but this one is near and dear to my heart.  It’s the SF Etsy Sampler- an event that was actually my idea!

What Fun!

One of our talented team members did the graphic design!

Here’s the story:

SF Etsy is a group of Bay Area Etsy Sellers.  We have weekly meetings, share information, encourage each other’s crafts, and generally support one another in our endeavors trying to sell our artwork.  We have a great blog- www.SFetsy.blogspot.com, and several hundred team members!

The Artist Xchange is an amazing local gallery that carries my jewelry.  They represent tons of great Bay Area artists in their beautiful location in the Mission.  In March, the Artist Xchange announced that they were looking to do more themed shows and special events- so I thought it would be perfect to have an SF Etsy event!  Scott, the owner of the Artist Xchange loved the idea and the Sampler was born.  Etsy headquarters liked our idea too- so much so that they gave us a grant to help make it a success!  The SF Etsy Marketing Team has been tirelessly working to plan the Sampler since March, and we can’t wait to see the fruits of our labor!

Here’s a little info about the Sampler:

Saturday June 12th, 1-6pm at the Artist Xchange, 3169 16th Street, San Francisco.

“Nibble on free refreshments while sampling the superb work of 20 talented Etsy artists from the San Francisco Bay Area. At the SF Etsy Sampler, you’ll find an assortment of awesome art and irresistible handcrafts — delectable jewelry, terrific textiles, fun accessories, beautiful home decor, fabulous fashions, and yummy bath and body treats.

There’s something for every flavor in the SF Etsy Sampler: sweet, spicy, a little bit nutty, rich, dark, or thoroughly decadent.”

For a complete list of artists who will be showing, visit the SF Etsy Blog– you can see images of their work and visit their Etsy shops.

You can also RSVP for the event via Facebook here.  Invite your friends while you’re at it!

I hope to see you there!

I love fan mail!

I got a really sweet note from one of my awesome customers recently. It made my day, so I thought I’d share:

Hi Kendra!
I got the jewelry today. (that was fast!)
And, wore it today to a graduation celebration. The necklace is perfect! I love the drop necklace I already have (as I said-I wear it almost every day) but the lotus is so dainty and beautiful! The earrings are perfect too. I thought about getting the lantern earrings, but the pictures you have on your website showing the model wearing them convinced me the drop earring were more suitable for me and they are! I love them!
Thanks for your beautiful work!
Tricia

I always love hearing from you guys- you give me the confidence to keep on going! I appreciate your comments with all my heart.

Just in case you haven’t seen them yet…

Just thought I’d post pictures of the new jewels available in my etsy store– you may have seen them in my most recent newsletter or Facebook Fan Page updates.

What’s that? You’re not subscribed to my newsletter?  Goodness gracious! –Sign up here.

As you can probably tell, I’ve been digging the keshi pearls lately.  I love their simple irregularity!  These designs will be up on my website soon- just waiting for my…err web admin (aka Robby my awesome boyfriend) to get his computer with the fancy software back up and running.

I had so much fun making these-I’d love to know what you think!

New Partnership: Presh Designer Collective

Yesterday I took a trip up to San Anselmo to deliver my collection of jewelry to a beautiful new retail location- Presh Designer Collective.

Presh is nestled in one of the cutest shopping districts I have ever seen- it shares the street with adorable restaurants, boutiques, and spas.  The store is the main retail location for Presh by Nicole Apostoli– they feature the entire Presh collection, as well as showcase a select group of other jewelry artists.  Nicole launched the Presh line in 2001, and since then has been featured on America’s Next Top Model, All My Children, The View, The Rachael Ray Show, and American Idol.  Her work is a celebrity favorite, and has been featured in many catalogs and magazines.

Nicole found me through etsy about a month ago and asked  me to show my collection at the Presh Designer Collective.  I am so proud to be featured at this exclusive location- it is an honor to have my work shown with Nicole and the other amazing artists she’s selected.  If you have a free weekend take a trip to San Anselmo- you won’t be disappointed!
